Using the Windows key

by Answers 2000 Limited

The Windows key provides quick access to a number of (moderately) useful functions. This tip explains how to use it.

WindowsDisplays the Start menu
Windows+TABCycles through the application buttons on the task bar
Windows+F1Displays Help
Windows+rDisplays the Run dialog
Windows+eDisplays the Windows Explorer
Windows+mMinimizes all applications
Windows+SHIFT+mRestores all applications (reversing the effect of Windows+m)
Windows+fDisplays the Find All Files dialog box
Windows+CTRL+fDisplays the Find Computer dialog box
Windows+Pause/BreakDisplays the System Properties dialog

If your keyboard doesn't have a Windows key, you aren't missing much: all these functions are available by other means, for example from the Start menu.
