Haukur Snorrason is an Icelandic photographer who has been photographing Iceland and its landscape more or less since he was a young boy, thanks to his father Snorri Snorrason, who gave him his old Edixa camera in 1978. Being a private pilot has enabled him to pursue his passion of photographing Iceland from the air. Photographing Iceland during all seasons of the year has also developed into a couple of very successful book of photographs, "Land of Light", published in 1999, and "Experience Iceland", published in 2005. Enjoy this theme pack which also contains pictures from his father Snorri Snorrason, who was a pilot for the airline company Icelandair and dedicated his life to ships and airplanes, which he has been photographing since 1945. Especially fascinating are the old photographs dating from early last century e.g. historical photos of Graf Zeppelin over Reykjavik in 1930 and German U-boats in Reykjavik harbour in 1938. |
