Product Description:
The Nigerian civil war of the late 1960s was one of the first occasions when Western consciences were awakened and deeply affronted by the level of the suffering and the scale of the atrocity being played out in the African Continent.

This book which marked Frederick Forsyth's transition from journalist to author is a record of one of the most brutal conflicts the Third World has ever suffered, it has become a classic of modern war reporting. But it is more than that. It voices one man's outrage not only at the extremes of human violence, but also at the duplicity and self-interest of the Western Governments - most notably, the British, who tacitly accepted or actively aided that violence.

The combination of the dramatic events and the shocking exposures combined with the author's forthright and perceptive style makes The Biafra Story as compelling a read today as when it was first written.

Product Description:
With Iraq gone to hell in a handbasket, Rome falling at home, and the so-called opposition Democrats "searching for a message," it's high time for Jello Biafra and his merry mouth to tip the cow and set the barn on fire. As always, Jello whacks the moles wherever he finds them in Spoken Word extravaganza #8, presented in a beautiful triple cd digipack. Buried Iraq facts, vote fraud disease, the Arnold putsch, the blue state/red state "values" myth, Paris in Abu Ghraib, Satanic Santas, a visit to New Orleans, and the return of a strange geometry teacher are all part of the info-tainment stew.

Other highlights of In the Grip of Official Treason include an expanded version of the Ministry song "Ass Clown" from their latest album Rio Grande Blood. Also, check out the all-new update of the Gulf War I primal scream classic "Die for Oil, Sucker." Includes all new art by Winston Smith, links to great information, photos by Jello Biafra, and another of his soon-to-be-classic black and white collages.

Product Description:
ABOUT THE BOOK This is the history of the Nigerian civil war, a four-year period of events that have been meticulously and painstakingly tied to actual and specific dates, as well as days of the week, creating the greatest one-volume diary on the civil war, with verifiable and referenced sources. The contents of this book reflect the events of the Nigerian civil war and world reactions, woven together into a simultaneous and situational sequence that creates a real and actual experience to the reader, as if the events were still contemporaneous. The contents are free of the shackles of governments control on both sides of the war. In this book, Dr. Luke Nnaemeka Aneke, presents the Nigerian civil war in a different and unique form - an amalgam of eyewitness accounts from journalists, relief workers, mercenaries, arms dealers, pilots and others, as recorded by independent news sources not controlled by Nigerian or Biafran authorities. In his foreword to this book, the late General Phillip Efiong wrote: “the presentation of this book in the form of a diary of events paints a picture –a historical picture-that is free of rancour and the play of personal emotions”, for which work, according to the general also, Nigeria and the world should be grateful to the author.

Product Description:
The Brothers' War: Biafra and Nigeria was first published in 1972. In the UK it had the title The Nigerian Civil War. That is what it is about. In the early 1960s Nigeria looked set to be the major black African country. It seemed to be immune from the internecine struggles that bedevilled so many of the African states. The illusion of stability was shattered at the beginning of 1966. During the next four years the country suffered two bloody coups, a series of appalling massacres, and a protracted and savage civil war which claimed a million lives. This was a civil war on a par with the American and Spanish civil wars and like both those it was a desperate affair, fought to the bitter end by determined people who shared a common past and a common language. John de St. Jorre covered the conflict for the Observer. He was one of the few people to keep in touch with both sides. His account was objective and remains definitive.

Product Description:
Examining the complexity of the nature and outcome of the Biafra War, Africa's bloodiest war of the 20th century, this text considers the alienation imperative of the Western-created post-colonial state. The author argues that this state is historically flawed and does not serve the interests of the African peoples. He contends instead that a post-post-colonial state evolving from internal African conditions and priorities offers Africa the way forward to avoid horrendous conflicts such as Biafra.
